To coincide with the upcoming anniversary of the York Glaziers Trust's 50th year, director Sarah Brown, in conjunction with Scala and the Dean and Chapter of York Minster, has published a new edition of her book Stained Glass in York Minster. First printed in 1999, the new edition has over a hundred high-definition images of stained glass. The book explores the development of York Minster and its glazing, starting with an assessment of the evidence of the pre-conquest Minster and an examination of the earliest surviving twelfth century glazing schemes. The Great East and West windows, as well as the Rose window and Five Sisters window in the transepts, are also explored, as well as lesser known later glazing schemes from the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, such as Erwin Bossanyi's 1944 depiction of St Francis.
