June 2020
Following the UK government's announcement that the country was entering a period of lockdown, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the YGT closed its premises from late March. However, after making adaptions to the YGT's workshops - in order to create Covid Secure work environments - the YGT is pleased to announce that all of our staff have now returned to work and are busy operating 'business as usual'. Since returning, the conservators and glaziers have been engaged on a range of projects including the removal and conservation of three medieval windows at York Minster, the re-display of a set of a collection of glass for a rural church in East Yorkshire, designs for a new window for a prestigious independent Oxfordshire school, and the fabrication of several complex private commissions for Turner-prize winning artist Richard Wright and The Modern Institute.
The team would like to wish all of our colleagues, suppliers, and customers continued good health during these unprecedented times.
