Employment and Training
The York Glaziers Trust is committed to excellence in training.
Since 2005 the Trust has trained four stained glass conservators and has offered work experience and internship opportunities to conservation students from the UK, France, Germany, Sweden and the US. In 2009 it hosted an ICON/HLF 'Skills in Practice' intern who has now gone on to post-graduate study in the discipline.
In 2010 two of its trainees were the first stained glass conservators to secure the new ICON Conservation Technician Qualification (CTQ), the first step towards full professional accreditation.
New training opportunities will arise out of the Heritage Lottery Funded conservation of York Minster's Great East Window and all new trainees will be supported in the acquisition of the Conservation Technician's Qualification.
Opportunities will posted here, so if you are interested please bookmark this page.
